Clearing the Fog (Weekly Recovery Reflection)
Sobriety teaches us not just to stop, but to see.

My Thoughts
Early recovery can feel like walking out of a dense fog into the daylight. For so long, our thoughts may have been hijacked by compulsions, shame, or fear, leaving us unsure of what was real and what was distorted. When we begin living in sobriety, our minds slowly return to us — yet clarity doesn’t arrive all at once. It comes in layers, moments of truth, new awareness, and the courage to sit with reality instead of escaping it.
Learning to think clearly isn’t about perfection. It’s about pausing before we react, challenging old stories we once believed, and letting wisdom rise instead of letting chaos drive. Clarity grows when we are willing to be gentle with ourselves, patient with our healing, and open to guidance from Spirit and trusted community. Each clear thought is a small miracle, a sign that we are reclaiming our lives.
Action for the Week
This week, notice one situation where you would normally fall into confusion, overthinking, or distorted patterns. Pause, breathe, and ask yourself: “What is true right now? What is fear trying to tell me? What would clarity sound like?” Write down your answers, even if they feel incomplete. Over time, this practice strengthens your ability to think clearly and trust your sober mind. This week, notice one situation where you would normally fall into confusion, overthinking, or distorted patterns.
