Embracing the Light, Honoring the Shadows (Weekly Recovery Reflection)
When we allow the full truth of who we are — both the bright and the tender — healing deepens.

My Thoughts
This week invites us to notice how much light we can now hold — how much honesty, joy, vulnerability, and presence we’ve cultivated. Yet with this increase in light often comes the emergence of old fears, forgotten grief, or behaviors we thought we’d outgrown. That’s not regression. That’s a revelation.
In recovery, progress doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means we’re brave enough to face more of ourselves. The shadows that appear now aren’t failures — they are invitations. When light expands, it doesn’t eliminate the dark; it helps us see more clearly. This is a sacred part of healing.
Action for the Week
Take 15 minutes to journal with this prompt: “What part of me is asking to be seen, not fixed?” Light a candle as you write, symbolizing your willingness to be with both your growth and your wounds. Be tender with what arises — it’s not a problem to solve but a part of you to love. Let this week be less about performance and more about permission.
