Let Go and Let Flow (Weekly Recovery Reflection)
Releasing control opens the door to deeper peace and unexpected grace.
Quote
"You are afraid of surrender because you don't want to lose control. But you never had control; all you had was anxiety." — Elizabeth Gilbert
My Thoughts
As June begins, many of us feel the stirring of "summer energy" — the urge to plan, push, and produce. In recovery, that can reawaken old control patterns: trying to manage outcomes, other people's behaviors, or even our own healing timeline. But control is a mirage. The more tightly we grip, the more anxious and disconnected we become.
Recovery invites a radical shift: to loosen our grip and trust that life is unfolding with us, not against us. This doesn't mean passivity. It means partnership. When we release control, we begin to co-create with Spirit, with our Higher Self. We make room for miracles, for synchronicity, for ease. This week, let go gently. Let life breathe.
Action for the Week
Notice where you're gripping. Is it in your schedule? A relationship? Your recovery milestones? Choose one area where you can surrender the need to control and practice softening your approach. Journal with this prompt: "If I trusted life more fully, what would I do differently this week?" Let the answer guide a small, inspired action—and see what grace flows in.
Wow that's really good
